Digital Tools and Building Science Powers Speed, Simplicity and Smart, Healthy Homes for Customers Nationwide
VALLEJO – December 17, 2014 – As 2014 comes to a close, Blu Homes®, America’s leading premium prefab home builder, continues to demonstrate the company’s commitment to technology-driven innovation, delighting customers nationwide. Today, Blu announced a round-up of the technology innovations from 2014 that are providing the greatest benefit to their customers.
“From digital tools that allow anyone worldwide to design their home online and in 3-D to advanced building science that allows us to build a Blu home in as little as 40 weeks, we are continuing to invest in technology that improves our customers’ experience,” said Bill Haney, CEO of Blu Homes. “Our technology advances in visualization, advanced modeling and building sciences mean that homes in our 2015 product line are more spacious, greener, healthier, smarter and less expensive than ever before.”
In 2014, Blu has made technology advancements that impact every stage of the Blu customer experience. Highlights include:
2015 Configurator—The latest version of Blu’s popular online tool allows consumers to configure their Blu home, from layout to fixtures and finishes. Built-in dynamic pricing updates as options are selected.
2015 Budget Builder—Powered by a fast and easy algorithm for estimating basic site work costs and upgrades in all 48 continental states.
BluView—Provides an exciting new way to tour Blu’s newest design, the Breeze Aire, virtually. Visitors to Blu’s Display Homes can put on the Oculus Rift Virtual Reality headset to experience the first-ever, immersive 3-D home tour.
Blu Conceptual Design Study—Thanks to cutting-edge, proprietary virtual modeling, Blu is able to provide potential customers with personalized site design, budget, timeline, and zoning checks for a $2500 flat fee.
Home Delivery—This year, Blu obtained two initial patents around its core folding technology, which, among other things, allows the company to deliver homes with remarkable glass walls and wide-open spaces nationwide. Blu Homes’ North American footprint has grown from 79 to 109 cities, plus its first two homes in Canada.
Standing Up to Mother Nature—Thanks to steel-reinforced building envelopes and advanced building science, Blu homes are proven to stand up to severe weather and seismic events, including the recent 6.0 earthquake in Napa County, California and a F2 tornado in Wisconsin.
Smart, Green Features Come Standard—Blu believes that a smart, green home should be the standard. The 2015 product line now includes sophisticated, iPad®-based home automation systems for remote management of lighting, media systems, security, and temperature controls. These homes are also greener and healthier, with an all-LED lighting system standard in every home and features like hospital-quality air filtration systems that protect families from air pollution and allergens.
