Glidehouse

Blu Homes delivered and set a Glidehouse and Pod on Vashon Island, WA to serve as a home for Richard Mintz and Diane McGaha.  Richard and Diane first fell in love with the Glidehouse after seeing it in the pages of Sunset magazine.  With its 60-foot ‘wall of glass,’ 14-foot ceilings, and abundant clerestory windows, Richard and Diane “knew that this was a house that would allow them to take full advantage of the spectacular views of Mt. Rainier from their lot.”  In addition to showcasing their breathtaking views, Richard and Diane love the way the home lets in light and cool breezes, saving on energy costs as well as creating an uplifting living environment.

“One of the beauties of Blu Homes is that they include everything you need such that you don’t feel like you’re getting nickel and dimed to death. It’s a totally different approach to home construction which I think is a lot less stressful and to be fair, it’s a lot more honest.”
