Job Opening: VP of Finance
Blu Homes, a leading prefab homes and buildings company, is seeking qualified applicants for a VP of Finance position. Blu is an early stage company that designs and builds eco-friendly prefab homes and commercial structures that are designed to take advantage of smart design for more responsible ecological and economic footprints.
The candidate will report to the President, and will be responsible for raising capital, consumer and corporate financing arrangements, financial analysis, modeling projections and presentations, and overseeing legal, HR, accounting, tax etc. S/he will also work with the VP of Sales and Marketing on strategic and business development issues. Qualified candidates should be company builders but also capable of executing deals, and excellent communicators. They will be directly responsible for strategic relationships with financing entities and detailed planning for growth of the company.
Blu engineers and manufactures mass-customized structures using proprietary digital modeling and analysis software and a patent-pending assembly system. Qualified candidates should have the ability to model projections and make presentations based on this high-tech approach, as well as conveying our focus on beautiful, sustainable, and cost-conscious design. Candidates will participate in management-level communications to a variety of entities, including financial entities but also key investors, developers, and other strategic partners.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years experience in areas such as high tech startups, venture capital, investment banking, real estate financing, financial or management consulting, or comparable work environments;
• Experience raising capital a plus;
• Knowledge of real estate financing a plus;
• Bachelor’s degree or more from top tier school.
Character:
• Excellent communication skills and facility in deal-making and presentations;
• Down to earth attitude, hard working, and excitement about startup culture;
• Genuine interest in the future and potential of healthy, high tech buildings;
• Strong ability in financial projections, communication of financial information;
• Meticulous approach to quantitatively analyzing and reporting financial information;
• Understanding of financial and cost accounting, AR/AP management, etc;
• Understanding of commercial banking including lines of credit, equipment leasing, cash management;
• Thorough, analytical approach to legal documentation and contracts;
• Experience with intellectual property development is a plus;
• Experience with company cap structure and capital raising process is a plus.
Compensation: Full-time, salaried position with potential stock options. Salary based on experience and fit.
