Sarah Jazmine Fugate, product designer

Experience:  Sarah has several years experience working as an architectural designer, research assistant and CATIA expert for a variety of top architects and designers including Rudy Ricciotti (2006 Laureate of the Grand Prix national d’Architecture in Bandol, France), Nina Hofer (University of Florida) and Ed Eigen (Princeton).  She also worked for general contractor/designer Shelter Associates and enjoyed a brief assignment with the Jersey Devil design-build collaborative.  Her thesis at Princeton involved domestic energy use and heat exchange.

Community:  Worked with a team of volunteers building homes in Tijuana, Mexico, and helped to plan a lecture series at Princeton which brought structural engineers and architects together around the issue of sustainability.  Sarah also designed and painted a 100′ mural in her hometown composed of a single line.

Interests:  Physics, thermodynamics, political economics, philosophy, portrait drawing, yoga, biking, fashion.

Fun Fact:  Started her first business when she was 16 years old sewing and selling reversible handbags to classmates and friends.  In a very short time she sold over 250 handbags in 5 original designs using 100 different types of fabric!

Education: Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Florida in 2005 and Masters of Architecture from Princeton in 2009.
