Maura McCarthy, co-founder and VP of sales & marketing
Experience: Maura co-founded Blu Homes because of a deep interest in reducing the carbon footprint of American homes, and making home buying a more fun and convenient experience. Maura has several years experience as a venture capital investor at Ironwood Equity, including experience as an investor in the prefab homes industry. Maura is a board member of The Capital Network - a nonprofit focused on providing mentorship and financing help to startup entrepreneurs, and is a board observer on ISIS, the leading provider of active apparel focused solely on women.
Community: Member of the U.S. Green Building Council and the Renewable Energy Business Network; has served as a judge for the MIT Enterprise Forum and Ignite Clean Energy competition.
Interests: Playing the fiddle, watching Red Sox and Tigers baseball, politics, swimming, entertaining, and tasting new cheeses.
Fun Fact: Grew up in a one-bedroom house built for $2,000 using locally sourced and recycled materials. Green living is in her blood!
Education: BA from Georgetown University in 2001.
