Maura McCarthy | Co-founder and VP Strategic Development
Maura McCarthy co-founded Blu Homes inspired by the opportunity to build beautiful, green homes using transformational technology. Previously she worked for several years in venture capital, investing in traditional prefab building as well as consumer products companies at Ironwood Equity. Maura started her career as an economics analyst under the Greenspan administration at the Fed and then at Professor Michael Porter’s research firm, ICIC, in Boston.
Maura is co-founder of non-profit World Connect, which works to improve the health and wellbeing of women and children in underserved and under-resourced communities worldwide. She is also a board member of The Capital Network, a nonprofit focused on providing mentorship and financing help to startup entrepreneurs. Maura is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and the Renewable Energy Business Network, and has served as a judge for the MIT Enterprise Forum and Ignite Clean Energy competition.
Playing bluegrass fiddle, watching Red Sox and Tigers baseball.
Grew up in a one-bedroom house built for $2,000 using locally sourced and recycled materials. Green living is in her blood!
