Karl Daubmann is an Associate Professor of Architecture at the University of Michigan. He teaches design and seminars in digital media, fabrication, multidisciplinary design, and interactive design. His writings have been included in Future Wood – Innovation in Building Design + Manufacturing, Fabrications, and Smart Graphics – American Association for Artificial Intelligence. Karl was previously the VP of Design at Blu Homes, and a former partner of PLY Architecture for more than 10 years.
Karl earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Roger Williams University and a Master’s of Science in Architectural Studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. While at MIT, his research was focused on design technology and the role of simulation in design. Karl is licensed to practice architecture in Michigan, Massachusetts, New York, and Washington.
